In an ongoing effort to build a coalition of designers committed to giving back to children with their talents, we are honored to announce our sixth chapter affiliate in Denver, Colorado.

Give a warm, savvy welcome to Chapter President, Jessica Duce of JDuce Design. Here's a little more about Jessica and her passion for joining us here.

Jessica's Story:

"My name is Jessica Duce and I’m an Interior Designer in the metro Denver area.  My Mother was in the Interior Design business as a Kitchen Designer.  This is in my blood and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have been called a room whisperer and a design marriage counselor.  Whatever works to achieve the space and feel you have been wanting - I will help you get there.

I am an experienced residential and commercial Designer.  Our firm, JDuce Design, helps clients all over the country with their design needs - big and small - and we love it.    We also work with Airbnb and VRBO owners to maximize their profitability through Design.

I am a mother of three.  My son, and oldest, is a Seton Hall graduate and now a Army Ranger.  My oldest daughter is studying physics at Cal Poly and has interned for NASA.  My youngest is a Senior in high school and is involved in everything she can. She surprises me everyday.  My husband and I have been married for 26 wonderful years and he is my rock.

I wanted to be able to give back because our family personally knows and understands the struggles of a family dealing with a serious medical condition.   My father and stepmother were diagnosed with cancer one week apart. It was devastating. They went through chemo together. We all helped and shared together as one healed and one did not.  In the end, we lost my father after a year of battling. Thank goodness we have our stepmom. During this time, I went into help mode but it never occurred to me to improve our design surroundings.  I was in too deep. I understand how you don’t know what you need at the time.

Because of this experience, I want to help those in any way we can during a difficult time.

I heard about Savvy Giving by Design San Diego when I met Susan Wintersteen at Vegas Market for Design Professionals.  I was immediately hooked. Susan’s passion and commitment to this organization cannot be measured or defined. It is amazing and beautiful and I immediately wanted to help in any way I could.  I had been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity for many years. I was even Volunteer of the Year. I was ready to share my time with a new challenge after my family’s experience with Cancer. Susan came into my life at the perfect time.

I am most looking forward to…giving a bit of comfort to a child and their family when they need it most and hopefully feeling they are loved and supported with no expectation."

Send this link along to your Denver friends and encourage them to join the local Facebook group to meet more deserving families, supply more fund-a-needs, and make a difference in their community.
