What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. We've created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.
About this year's Campaign: Give Light
This year, our Giving Tuesday campaign is all about Giving Light. In each room install that we do for children facing life-threatening illnesses or injuries, light control is super important. When you are feeling crummy or need your last does of chemo late at night, having lights on a dimmer switch doesn't harshly disrupt your sleep cycle.
We love to include twinkling lights in the room makeovers that we do so that these kids have something sparkly to look up at in the evenings.
On a deeper level, we want to BRING LIGHT to an otherwise dark chapter in the lives of these families. Cancer and childhood illnesses are ugly beasts.
LIGHT gives us hope.
LIGHT makes us happy.
LIGHT is what we strive to provide.
This year, we encourage you to #GIVELIGHT by making a donation to Savvy Giving by Design.
As you may have noticed, light plays a big role in the rooms we design for children facing life-threatening illnesses... from light control with window treatments and ceiling fixtures to the very special twinkle lights above the bed to give them something sparkly to look at late at night. From now til Nov 28, we encourage you to give a little light by making a donation to SGBD at savvygivingbydesign.org

How to Help SGBD on #GivingTuesday
MAKE A DONATION
The easiest way to make a surefire difference in the lives of the children we help is to make a donation. You can donate through our website, or through our facebook page on Giving Tuesday.
CORPORATE MATCHING
Most companies will match a percentage of your charitable donations to registered 501c3 organizations (we are one!). Make sure to ask your employer if they have a matching program.
