Board Member Spotlight: Stacy Fiske

In an effort to help spread our mission, we have taken the time to interview each of our SGBD board members. Meet Stacy Fiske. Stacy is a Partner with Moms Making Six Figures where she helps women work from home to design the work-life balance they so often seek.  She has a corporate background as a CPA and auditor and is also a mom to 5 kids. We recently interviewed Stacy about her involvement with SGBD and why our mission is particularly close to her heart.

What is your Savvy Giving be Design Title?

Treasurer

What does the SGBD mission mean to you?

That we can make a substantial impact on a child's life in the midst of probably the most difficult and painful time they have ever experienced.

What prior nonprofit experience do you have?

I was formerly Chairman of the Board of Directors at Angels Foster Family Network.

Why did you become involved in the organization, and what has your involvement looked like over time?

I became involved because my heart was touched by the impact the organization was able to have on children.

What makes our mission meaningful to you?

I have 5 children of my own and cannot imagine how difficult it must be for the families in this time of medical crisis and what a blessing it would be to have an organization like Savvy Giving show up and make things a little bit brighter.

What do you want to accomplish as a board member this year?

To ensure we are living up to our mission and helping as many children as we possibly can.

How do you explain SGBD to someone who has never heard of it before?

We are a nonprofit that does room makeovers for kids facing a medical crisis in order to make sure their space is a safe, healthy and comfortable refuge for them to spend time in while they are fighting for their lives!

If you had unlimited resources, what is the one thing you as a board member would like to do for the population we serve?

To offer these families further financial help to cover medical expenses and lost wages during the time the family needs to be home with their child who is ill.
